Introducing
Islander Benefits
Islander Benefits is our way of providing additional support to local businesses by continuing to promote the 'Shop Local' campaign and collectively to thank you for supporting the Discovery Islander with your annual subscription payment and local businesses with your patronage.
The DI publishes 26 editions a year that are distributed directly to all post office maillboxes throughout the Discovery Islands. To date this service has been free of charge but times change and the DI is asking our loyal readers to now make a nominal annual payment of $30 to ensure our local newspaper continues to be viable well into the future.
In exchange we will be mailing you an 'Islander Benefits' card (or two) which we hope will be adopted by island businesses as a local 'rewards' or 'loyalty' program and they will offer discounts or special deals under the 'Shop Local' campaign.
